WALT: use mindmapping as a learning tool
Click on the link below to watch a 5min video from YouTube about the power of mindmapping. You may need to ask your parents for permission to use YouTube. Getting that permission is YOUR responsibility. Actually the best thing to do would be to watch the video with your parents so that they understanding why we are using this tool in class this year.

In class you will be asked to create a mindmap about ‘YOU” which will allow you to have a go at mindmapping and help the rest of us to get to know you better.
WALT: add brief informative comments and add links a blog comment
Once you have watched this video try and find another video or website that teaches you about another study skill or learning tool that you think would be useful for others in the class to view. Make a comment on this post that includes a one sentence summary of the tool and a link to the video and an image. Again you need to talk to a parent about what your family guidelines are to do with searching the net. Do not search the net without permission. If parents say “No” respectfully ask if they would be willing to supervise you whilst you did a brief search to do with a specific learning topic.

One of the keys to cybersafety is that you should not upload information that make you easily identifiable. So instead of having a photo of yourself next to your name create an avatar like mine. Remember to use only your first name, or an appropriate nickname, and never use phone numbers, home address or last names on the net.
If you want to make a head start see if you can find a site that allows you to create your own avatar. When you have given it a go leave a comment (response) on this post about what site you used; one thing you learned; and one thing you would like to know more about.
